Tons of bridal shower ideas using lace, mason jars, and pastel colors from playpartypin.com

Hi everyone! This is Britni from Play. Party. Pin. again, and I’m so excited to be back here sharing one of my favorite parties I’ve planned recently. A couple of weeks ago I was given the honor of throwing a bridal shower for my younger sister who is getting married at the end of the month. Her wedding colors are blush, ivory, light mint, and light yellow, and she is doing a vintage feel wedding with colored mason jars, lots of lace, and other vintage details. I used her wedding theme and colors to plan this blushing bride bridal shower with the help of my
mom, sister Jami, and some party friends.

I kept the party table decorations fairly minimal with just some sweet and feminine touches including a beautiful ruffled tablecloth made custom for the party by Cupcake with Character, a pink and yellow ribbon banner that Nancy made just for the shower, and a custom colored tissue garland from Flair Exchange. I set the table using some vintage looking chalkboard boxes for height and a mint green food holder that I picked up from Home Goods as well as an old suitcase my sister picked up at a local thrift store.

Since the shower was from 11-1, we decided to make some more substantial food items including the best strawberry salad, fruit, simple pinwheel sandwiches, and my favorite mini frittatas. Mini flags with the bride and grooms initials were added to the pinwheels to tie them into the theme.

The center of the food was was this beautiful blush colored lace lined cake baked and designed by the talented Jennifer from Mixing It Up. Not only was the cake beautiful, but it tasted delicious as well. If you’re in the Kansas City area, I highly recommend contacting Jennifer.

In addition to the cake, we also served white cupcakes that I baked and topped with gorgeous fondant mason jar toppers created by Brittany from Edible Details and wrapped in lace wrappers that completed the look. I sent Brittany a picture of my sister’s ideal bouquet, and she matched the cupcake toppers to the bouquet perfectly.

I also made pink and green macarons using Mindy Cone‘s book Gourmet French Macarons and served candy jars full of marshmallows in the bride’s colors to finish out the desserts.

While everyone was eating and mingling, guests were asked to write own a piece of advice for my sister and to hang it on an advice tree. Isn’t this setup that my sister Jami put together cute? I especially love the sand filled vase and chalkboard countdown. I still can’t believe my sister is getting married in under a week.

After everyone had filled up their plates with delicious food, my sister opened a variety of fun gifts including a money umbrella, perfect for a rainy day. And of course, the required Victoria’s Secret wardrobe.

Once gifts were opened and everyone finished eating, we played a couple of simple games that had the bride blushing and guests laughing. The game winners were given prizes that were wrapped up in boxes and bags that are typically associated with a wedding including a ring box and Victoria’s Secret bag.

After games, guests were sent home with a memento that love is sweet, handcrafted edible lollipops with the couple’s engagement pictures (even the pictures are edible!!) on them from Lollipics. Ordering from Lollipics was as simple as picking out my colors, uploading my chosen pictures, and clicking order. I think it was the absolute perfect touch to an already beautiful bridal shower.

Congrats to my beautiful sister and her fiancé, and thanks to all of my wonderful vendors who helped make this bridal shower great.
